Ever since I’ve been introduced to the term GBOMBS, I’ve been very consistent (read: slightly obsessed) with ensuring I am getting them in my diet everyday. So far, it has been pretty easy, I’ve been 100% on most days, and I feel fine about that, but I’m also still trying to find ways to make it easier to get them in.
So, while we are still grilling up our onion and mushrooms for salads every night and eating beans like we never have before, there is still some opportunity to squeeze in some of the other GBOMBS more regularly. Every little bit helps, so I was very happy to see that Dr. Fuhrman, who introduced the GBOMBS term to me, has some convenient snacks that are comprised of GBOMBS!
First let me remind you– GBOMBS are – greens, beans, onions, mushrooms, berries and seeds. These foods are super healthy and according to research, disease (cancer) fighting! Plus, they are all natural, from the Earth and are food in its simplest form. Can’t really go wrong with that!!

Snacks I Ordered
Of course the foods that appealed to me were the convenient, portable, throw in your purse or desk drawer foods. Oh, and the chocolate ones, I went for those too 🙂
As I mentioned, I was focused on GBOMBS, so I chose the GBOMBS Nutrition Bars in Nuts for Chocolate and Chocolate Peanut Butter. Since I also love Lemon, I also tried the Date-Nut Pop’ems in Lemon Cashew Coconut flavor!
Nuts for Chocolate and Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
OK, I really have NO IDEA how there are mushrooms and onions in either of these bars??!! All I taste is chocolate! But, they do have onions, kale, blueberries, flax seeds, spinach, mung beans and mushrooms in them!
Both flavors were great. And in my opinion, the calories are right on point for a snack. Each bar is only 140 calories, and because they are filled with healthy fats, and have a great balance of overall nutrients, they are super filling.
Typically, I use snack bars like these for little nips and bites throughout the day. A little bite here and there to take care of my sweet tooth. But with these, I find it hard to stop at one bite! OK, another thing I am totally guilty of is…. standing in front of the fridge and snacking on whatever I can take a bite of… enter these little goodies!
These really hit the spot! These aren’t GBOMBS based, but they are a nice whole food nutritious treat, in the perfect portion size. They are simply cashews, dates, coconut, flax seeds and lemon extract. I mean, the cleanest ingredients you can find.
I can totally see myself keeping these in my lunch bag at work, just for when I need a quick bite or pick me up. Next to chocolate, lemon is my absolute favorite, so these are right in line with my tastes.
All in all, I am 100% IN on these convenient and healthy snacks. I think next up, I will try some other flavors of Pop’ems (like the Chocolate Brownie, HELLO) and the salad dressings. Again, everything is made up of the healthiest-for-you ingredients and are completely plant based.

Oh – I almost forgot… one more thing I am dying to do, and have added to my list is attending one of his retreats, probably the Florida one. I try to do one self-development major thing per year. This year, I’m thinking about making it about health! I love retreats where everyone is on the same, or similar path, where you can meet new folks who are interested in the same things.
I have built some truly lasting friendships with people I met just once!
